Four whole non-gmo fed rabbits per month

A $2 convenience fee will be charged for each biweekly pickup in addition to the CSA Membership fee paid initially.

This is for a Large Share in Mezzaluna Farmstead’s Summer Rabbit CSA, which will provide you with (2) rabbits at two monthly pick-up dates at the High Country Food Hub in Boone, NC for a total of four (4) rabbits per month. Our rabbits are raised on a non-gmo alfalfa based pellet from a small family mill in Western NC, along with garden/pasture surplus. The Summer rabbit subscription will run from June through August with pick-up during the Food Hub’s regular Wednesday hours on the following dates:
June 6th and 20th
July 11th and 25th
August 8th and 22nd
Why subscribe to a rabbit CSA? On average, your whole dressed rabbit will weigh 2.5 lbs, so this works out to roughly $5/lb for non-gmo meat! That’s over 15% off our usual $6/lb retail price. Your advanced subscription helps us purchase the feed, packaging and supplies to raise your rabbits, while supporting a delicious, sustainable meat and our growing farm. Some of the benefits include a monthly newsletter with recipes and cooking tips to make the most of your rabbit, including organs and bones. We’ve been raising and eating rabbits for about four years now, so we’re happy to provide you with ideas for cooking and breaking down a whole rabbit and suggestions that utilize what’s in season in the High Country. We will occasionally offer add-on options to our CSA subscribers (including additional rabbit at the CSA price), and offer a 10% discount on lamb, wool and wood products. When you sign up, we will provide you with a basic CSA agreement and our farm contact information should you have any questions.
