Hello, and welcome to Rustic Roots Heritage Homestead. We are Amber and Bob, a husband-and-wife team who chose to step away from city life in search of something simpler, more meaningful, and more connected.

Nestled in the countryside of McGrady North Carolina, our homestead is more than land and livestock — it’s the result of selling everything we knew to learn how to raise food responsibly and live closer to the land. What began as a personal journey toward self-sufficiency grew into a desire to share what we were learning with our community.

At Rustic Roots, we raise pasture-raised poultry with care for the animals, the land, and the families we serve. We believe good food starts with healthy soil, humane practices, and transparency. Our goal is simple: to provide honest, nourishing food and help rebuild the connection between people and the land that feeds them.

Our animals are raised outdoors on pasture, where they have access to fresh air, sunshine, and room to move. We use mobile housing and rotate our birds daily onto clean ground, supporting both animal health and soil health.

We prioritize low-stress handling and clean living conditions, allowing our animals to express natural behaviors. Our poultry are never raised in confinement and are not given antibiotics, medications, or growth stimulants.

We believe trust is built through openness. We welcome questions, conversations, and curiosity about how food is raised, and we strive to operate with care, integrity, and transparency in everything we do.
