Apple Hill Farm is a working fiber farm and agritourism destination in Banner Elk, NC. We have a herd of 20+ alpacas, 4 llamas, and 15+ Angora goats at any given time, along with several other animals that call Apple Hill Farm home! The alpacas, llamas, and Angora goats are sheared yearly for their soft fiber that we clean on-farm and have processed at mills in NC and TN. We compost and age the manure from the animals for nutrient-rich organic compost for our gardens, which provide us with rotating small-batch crops over the course of the spring, summer, and fall seasons. We welcome over 12,000 visitors yearly to experience a real working farm and find a genuine connection to the farm, our animals, and themselves.
We practice organic gardening for our small-batch garden, layering soil from our farm and aged compost from our animals, to grow luscious fruits and veggies.
