F.A.R.M. Full Circle is a food recovery and redistribution program of F.A.R.M. Cafe. F.A.R.M. Cafe is a community cafe where everyone eats, regardless of means, located in downtown Boone on King Street. Full Circle collects imperfect fruits and vegetables, over-ordered food items, and other products at risk of going to waste from local grocers, farmers, and small businesses. Each week, volunteers prepare ready-to-eat meals, meal kits, and other value added products using recovered foods. These products are distributed in two ways. A weekly selection of meals and side dishes are available on a donate-what-you-can basis at F.A.R.M. Cafe and here through the Hub. Secondly, we distribute fresh produce, prepared meals, and meal kits to nonprofit and faith-based organizations directly serving food insecure individuals in our community. As of October 2018 we have recovered over 9,000 lbs of food and distributed over 8,500 servings to food insecure individuals at no charge!

Practices
All of our products are listed on a donate-what-you can basis. The money generated through these donations goes back into our program to help us cover the cost of packaging and any ingredients not donated, so that we can distribute these same meals out to food insecure individuals at no charge.

All of our recovered produce is used to create healthy, preservative free meals that anyone can enjoy regardless of means. Any donated produce or food item that is not fit for consumption is composted to ensure that nothing goes to waste. Many local farmers and producers donate excess produce, these include Blue Ridge Naturals, Against the Grain, CS Farms, Full Moon Farms, and many others! All of our products come labeled with known allergens and if they contain any local ingredients.
